Week Seven: It's Definitely Week Seven...

There's a widely understood phenomenon that happens right around week seven of the quarter, where students and even some faculty hit a bump in the road and lose a bit of momentum in their progress for the quarter. During the seventh week of spring quarter, you can guess how difficult this can be for most. The sun is shining, the school year end is in sight, but there is still plenty to do. As much as I have enjoyed this quarter and all that I have been able to learn, I have come down with a severe case of "schoolitis" and I can honestly say I'll be glad to wrap this quarter up in a few weeks!

Staying attuned to the LibGuide reorganization and updating for the Media and Communications page hasn't been too hard, since I'm enjoying it, but it is harder than I had expected due to my small amount of time allotted for this one credit direct fieldwork experience this quarter. Five hours a week to meet with supervisors, attend meetings, and work on the organization of the LibGuide goes by very fast. I was so naively optimistic at the beginning of the quarter and thought I would have finished the LibGuide by this point, but no, it was not meant to be. However, I still have a few weeks left and I'm almost there. I will be able to wrap it up soon and give a nice finished product to the librarians and show off the new and improved page.

There has been plenty of link-clicking and investigating on my part with the current media website links in the LibGuide page, and many of them are either expired or in error. I've corrected links that I am able to, and deleted many that are no longer available. I found it a bit of a metaphor for how I am feeling this week in the MLIS program; Try to get something accomplished but it looks and feels more like a dead website link.

Onward.
